About Me: When I look at my own adult children, I am reminded of how long I have taught at Gabriel Richard. My daughter was one and a half years old when I started here in 1980. My son wasn't even born. No wonder GR seems like a second home to me. It's hard to remember those first years, but one impression remains firmly in my mind. I remember the sense of community that surrounded me from my very first day.
Over the years, I have taught a variety of classes in composition and literature at all grade levels. One of my favorite classes to teach is Popular Novels, a class that I developed to spark students' interest in reading. I love watching students become excited about a novel that we are reading.
I have been involved in many extracurricular activities and have worked as class moderator for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. I am also the Language Arts Department Chairperson and a member of the Faculty Hospitality Committee.
I enjoy reading, flower gardening, and spending time with my family.
